Terms & Conditions

Customers must disclose all known faults to Device Trader at the time of booking to ensure new parts are in stock & faults are able to be repaired. In some cases Device Trader may not be able to rectify the problem with the customer's device. Customers must keep in mind that at times phones/devices that are damaged are beyond repair.

A standard inspection fee is to be paid at the time of booking. This inspection fee is non refundable.

If the quote is accepted, the inspection/deposit fee will go towards paying the total cost of repairs.

Once your device is accepted by Device Trader for inspection, please allow up to 7 days for us to source parts.

All data on devices may be erased during software upgrades or repairs. It is the user’s responsibility to have these backed up. Device Trader will not be responsible for any cases of lost data. Our technicians will not be held accountable and no exceptional case will be accepted.

Software / firmware may need to be re-installed during a repair.

It is the owner’s responsibility to maintain data integrity.

Any software / firmware upgrades are done at the customer’s own risk.

Device Trader will not be held responsible for reprogramming any device at the user’s request. Reprogramming the phone may cause the phone to be unlocked from a certain network. It is the customer’s responsibility to have read the agreement or contract of the service provider and have sufficient understanding of how unlocking of a mobile phone unit may breach the contract in more ways than one. It is the customer that will be held liable for any penalties that may arise from unlocking the unit.

Device Trader is merely providing services / repairs that enable the intended device to function at the user’s expectations. This type of reprogramming will only be done at the user’s request and risk.

Device Trader is not responsible for ownership issues relating to the mobile device whilst left for repair. Please keep proof of purchase or reference to proof of ownership of the mobile phone during pick up as failure to do so will result in the seizure of the unit until sufficient identity is proven.

In some cases some parts may have already been damaged and have gone unnoticed. Device Trader will always try but cannot guarantee success on fixing a particular fault.

Remember certain parts are not supplied outside the factory therefore, not all faults are economically repairable.

If a phone is water damaged please expect some parts to deteriorate due to corrosion and as such, repairs may not be possible.

Device Trader will not be responsible for goods left on the premises longer than three (3) months after the quotation or completion of works.

Do not expect new for old exchange.

The item(s) documented in the service request will remain the property of Device Trader until such time the account is settled in full.

Warranty is only provided to the parts replaced or faults serviced by Device Trader. Any additional service requests made after the equipment leaves the premises will not be provided for warranty claim(s).

A warranty period of 12 Months is provided to any repairs done by Device Trader.

Deposits on specially ordered goods are not refundable unless we are unable to get hold of goods required. Please keep in mind shipping time is beyond our control.

Deposits are not refundable on special orders that are not picked up after 30 days of notification.

Device Trader reserves the right to repair, replace and re-order parts on warranty claims.

For any undamaged refurbished iPhone, please return it with its included accessories and packaging along with the original receipt and original packaging within 14 days of the date of purchase and we’ll exchange it or offer a refund based upon the original payment method. This will entail a $30 restocking fee.

 Device Trader reserves the right to cancel, at any time before delivery and for whatever reason, an order that it has previously accepted. Device Trader may do this for example, but without limitation, where:

A.) Goods ordered due to the subject of an error on the Website, for example, in relation to a description, price, or image, which was not discovered prior to the order being accepted. 

B.) An event beyond Device Trader control such as fire, flood, or terrorism. 

Free delivery of purchased devices is available for addresses within a 20KM radius of our Byron Bay store.

ALL Device Trader WARRANTIES DO NOT COVER PHYSICAL OR WATER DAMAGED DEVICES OR COMPONENTS.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS: DEVICE BUY-BACK

You must know your rights and your duties before you accept to participate in the device buy-back program. Participating in the program implies that you have agreed with the following terms and conditions:

  • You own the device that will be sold on the Device Trader buy-back site. We DO NOT accept lost or stolen devices.

  • As the owner of the device, it is considered that I will be held responsible for it and any information on it.

  • It is compulsory to delete my personal information from the device before sending it to Device Trader.

  • I own the device, and it is not under any contract or claims by third parties. Payment WILL NOT be given if the device is found to be lost or stolen.

  • The information that I have provided to Device Trader is correct and precise.

  • I am responsible for the condition and performance of the device in the Device Trader.

  • I understand that Device Trader will not be held responsible for any device that might be lost by Australia post. I choose to send and take responsibility for the device through Australia post.

*Note: Extra Cover insurance is recommended by Device Trader when sending your package. This can be purchased when the device is dropped off at any Australia Post store at the time of shipping.   • Any stolen device may be turned over to the Police. Any blocked device, fake device or a malfunctioning device may be returned.

  • Where a device is found to be not as described or faulty, I understand and accept that Device Trader might not pay the exact value and price after its assessment. In this instance, the customer may choose to have the device returned to them.

  • I understand that the device might not be able to switch on if it falls inside water or has physical harm.

  • I understand that I must stop using the device before sending it to Device Trader and that all the information saved on the device will be deleted when following the reset instructions.

  • I accept to send the device to Device Trader within 30 days.

  • I understand and accept that the price of the device on Device Trader might change at any time without notice. The price offered for the product will remain valid for a period of 30 days from the “date of the offer.” In a situation where the device is received after the expiration of the 30 days, then the new price will apply.

  • I accept that Device Trader will not be held responsible for any mistake provided on the financial agreement. I agree that the correct name and details for the payment of my device are my responsibility. Device Trader will not be held liable for any loss caused by incorrect information being provided.

  • I understand that Device Trader does not approve the fixed price of the device based on comparison with the market price of companies outside of Australia or any trade-in price offered.

  • I accept that Device Trader and its associates will not be at risk of losing any profit earned on the sale of the device. We will strive to mitigate every form of threat faced by Device Trader and its associates, whether predictable, planned, or coincidental.

  • These terms and conditions do not contradict the rights and conditions of the clients. These terms follow the laws of Australia, and qualified law practitioners will handle all the queries and questions arising from a misunderstanding of these terms.

  • https://devicetrader.com.au has the right to reject the deal if some essential parts are missing in the device. This includes alterations of the device designs and programming redesign by unapproved technician
